 The Department of Neurosurgery started functioning in April 2022 at AIIMS, Nagpur. The neurosurgery department deals with brain and spine diseases of individuals of all age groups, which require surgical consultation.

With the aim of catering to the neurosurgical needs of patients of the Vidarbha region and adjoining areas, the department is committed to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and advanced healthcare services at an affordable cost to the people. The department is engaged in providing, not only definitive care but also preventive and palliative care, to improve the quality of life of neurosurgical patients.

Our mission is to develop a state-of-art neurosurgery department in accordance with international standards and to empower the faculties and trainees to be efficient in the various advanced neurosurgical techniques as well as neuro-critical care management through innovative technologies, the latest equipment, and cutting-edge research. Inculcating a culture of ethical value-based learning is one of the primary goals of our department.

Dedication, passion, professionalism, sincerity, and empathy are the core values of our department guiding us in all our patient care, research and teaching endeavours.

The department is running outpatient, inpatient, and operative services for patients with various brain and spinal disorders.

The Neurosurgery OPD runs daily on the third floor of the OPD block and caters to an average of 75 patients per day. Operation days for neurosurgery are daily with two OT tables
