The Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at AIIMS Nagpur was established in April 2022.

Our department treats all benign and malignant surgical diseases of the digestive tract including but not limited to esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, rectum, liver, gall bladder and bile duct.

The department specializes in performing complex surgeries including liver resection, complex pancreatic surgery, surgery for portal hypertension (GI bleed) and all cancers of the digestive system including but not limited to Esophageal cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, gall bladder cancer, stomach and rectal cancers.
