The department aims to develop state-of-art:

  • NCDC BSL-3 Laboratory to diagnose high risk pathogens.
  • Infectious Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratories (IRDL) under ICMR
  • TB containment laboratory for culture and DST of Mycobacterium tuberculosis
  • Tissue culture laboratory for cultivation of viruses for diagnosis and research purpose
  • CD4 count and HIV viral load laboratory for better management of PLHIV
  • Anaerobic laboratory
  • STI/RTI laboratory
