He has over 200 research publications in prestigious, high-impact factor journals like JAMA, Lancet, NEJM, BMJ, etc. He has been the principal investigator/steering committee member/regional coordinator in numerous large, multi-centre, WHO-ICMR, and CSIR-funded research projects and clinical trials. He is among the few researchers from the country to have featured in the top 2% Most Influential Scientists in the 2023 Stanford University List.

Dr. Joshi is a recipient of the prestigious Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship for training at the University of Newcastle, Australia under the GOI-USAID program. He is the Past President of the Academy of Medical Sciences, Nagpur (2006-2007) and the Diabetic Association of India, Nagpur (2017-18). He is the founding member of the Indian Clinical Epidemiology Network (IndiaCLEN); former Chairman Research Committee of IndiaCLEN and Director of the Clinical Epidemiology Unit, Govt Medical College, Nagpur (2001-2003). He was the temporary advisor to WHO on Trypanosomiasis and Non-Communicable Diseases and was a Consultant to the Govt. of India (GOI) on Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme. He has worked extensively during the COVID pandemic as a Task Force member and as a Nodal Clinical expert, and was awarded the COVID Warrior award at the hands of the Governor of Maharashtra, Hon. B S Koshyari in 2021 and by IMA. With his strategic vision, a wealth of experience, and steadfast commitment to innovation, Dr. Prashant P.
