Introduction

Orthopaedics is a branch of medicine which deals with treatment of various diseases of musculoskeletal system right from birth deformities to fracture, spine disorders, arthritis, sports injury and malignancies of bone. Department of Orthopaedics at AIIMS Nagpur was established in July 2019 with a vision to become a centre of excellence in the field of orthopaedic care, education and research activities in central India.

Scope of services

We are committed to provide a comprehensive, evidence-based, advanced state-of-the-art health services at affordable cost to the people in central India with various types of orthopaedic ailments, not only in terms of definitive care but also preventive and palliative care to improve the musculoskeletal health. Besides, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and education in Orthopaedics and traumatology also forms part of the department preamble. Also, clinical research helps in continually evolving the therapeutic services, various surgical techniques and models of care, and needs to be adequately nurtured in the field of musculoskeletal medicine.
